4. Reference style & format for papers
The submissions for the forums (IFIMITAIddmmyy) should follow the Harvard referencing style.
- Journal article: Author(s) (Year) ‘Article title’, Journal Title, Volume(Issue), page range. DOI or URL (accessed [date]).
- Book: Surname, Initial(s). (Year) Title. Edition. Place: Publisher.
- Conference paper: Author Surname, Initial(s). (Year) ‘Title of paper’. In: Initial(s) Surname (ed.), Title of Conference Proceedings, full date, place of conference. Place of publication: Publisher, page numbers.
- AI-specific citation: OpenAI ChatGPT (year), Title and the hyperlink (accessed on dd/mm/yyyy).
For conference (ICIMITAIddmmyy) papers and ACM/IEEE/Springer conference proceedings, the requirements for referencing styles and formatting are given below.
In‑text citation style
Use numeric citations in square brackets in the order they appear in the text (for example: [1], [2], ...). For parenthetical citations enclose the reference number in brackets, e.g. [1]. Sequential parenthetical citations should be separated by commas: [1, 2].
When a citation is part of a sentence, the author name is not enclosed in brackets but the citation number is: for example, "So we see that Lee et al. [2000] show ...".
Reference list
Provide a numbered list of references at the end of the paper. Although the list is numbered, entries should be ordered alphabetically by the first author's last name.
